Many people first impression of aspirin such drugs, it is a kind of can antipyretic analgesic drugs, but with the attention to the drug, there are a lot of people are beginning to focus on the drug had more, and the current this kind of drugs, or there will be many different purposes, on the treatment of more extensive, suitable for a lot of different people.
Aspirin, one of the most main effect, is the ability to further analgesia, taking the fit, can be directly by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the body, and then can people's pain receptors can have the effect of a pain, so it is to belong to a kind of analgesic drugs in a class, especially for chronic dull pain but also have a powerful effect. In addition, this medicine, but also further antipyretic, can be directly through the regulation of the temperature center, so can speed up the skin blood circulation, to achieve the purpose of antipyretic.
Of course, some people do not know much about the anti-inflammatory effect of aspirin, in fact, this drug, it is also a very good anti-inflammatory effect, can directly by blocking the body's prostaglandin, or some other inflammatory substances, thereby bringing anti-inflammatory effect. It could also be used to treat diabetes and boost the body's production of insulin, which prevents the body from absorbing sugar and helps stabilize blood sugar levels.
Therefore, in recent years, aspirin can indeed have a good effect and help people complete the treatment of physical diseases, but it should not be taken at will, it still needs to be taken at the right time, it is better to accept the relevant examination, under the guidance of the doctor to determine whether this kind of drugs can be taken. The name Aspirin gives its origin, which is related to the willow tree. Aspirin's chemical name, acetylsalicylic acid, also gives insight into how it is made. Salicylic acid, the active ingredient in willow bark, is separated and purified, then hydrolyzed and oxidized to salicylic acid, a kind of medium strong acid, which can make the mouth feel burning pain or stomachache. Therefore, through esterification reaction, salicylic acid is changed to acetyl salicylic acid.
Plant extracts containing the active ingredient salicylic acid, such as willow bark and spirea, have been known to relieve pain and reduce fever since ancient times. Historical records from Hippocrates (about 460 to 377 BC) show that the powder made from the bark and leaves of willow trees relieves these symptoms.
Salicylic acid, the active ingredient of aspirin, was discovered in Oxford in 1763 by an English clergyman, Edward Stone. Acetylsalicylic acid was first synthesized in 1853 by French chemist Charles Frederick Gerhardt. In making and studying the properties of various anhydrides, he mixed acetyl chloride with sodium salicylate, which reacted violently and melted and soon solidified.
In 1869, Schroeder, Prinzhorn, and Crout repeated gerhardt's (using salicylic acid) and Gilm's (using salicylic acid) synthesis methods, which proved that the two reaction products were identical - acetylsalicylic acid. For the first time, they identified the right structure for the product -- acetyl groups attached to phenolic oxygen. In 1897 Bayer chemists modified salicin, a compound made by the plant Filipendula ulmaria, to produce a drug that was less stimulating to the digestive tract than pure salicylic acid. There is some debate about which chemist will lead the project. Bayer said the synthesis was done by Felix Hoffman, but later the Jewish chemist Arthur Eichengreen claimed he was the lead researcher, and his contributions were erased by the Nazi regime.
The drug is called acetylsalicylic acid and The company calls it Aspirin, taking its name from the Latin name for the plant known as the helicophyta (Filipendula ulmaria). By 1899, Bayer was selling the drug on the global market.
