Coumarin

Coumarin, also known as dual-furan ring oxa naphthalene and ortho-one. Insoluble in water, easily soluble in hot water. Coumarin is an important spice, naturally present in the tonka bean, incense Snake whip chrysanthemum, wild vanilla, orchid. Some coumarin derivatives exist in nature, some may be obtained by synthetic methods. The presence of some free, some in combination with glucose together, many of which have important economic value, such as bis coumarin, deposited by the last sweet clover plant corruption, can be synthesized now, as an anti-coagulant.

Coumarin is known as benzopyranone, which can be regarded as the lactone of cis-o-hydroxycinnamic acid. It is the mother nucleus of a large class of coumarin compounds in the botanical world.
It has powerful local antiseptic andmildanaesthetic actions. Cloves contain sesquiterpenes, these have been shown to have significant activity in inducing the detoxifying enzyme glutathione Stransferase in mouse liver and small intestine; the ability of natural anticarcinogens to induce such detoxifying enzymes correlates well with their ability to inhibi chemical carcinogenesis. Hulda Regehr Clark, Ph.D., N.D., in her book "The Cure for all Cancers", says,"[cloves have a great parasite killing abilitiy], nothing else known can kill the eggs of parasites in the body.

It is often used as deodorizer, perfume and perfume, and also used as flavoring agent for beverage, food, cigarette, plastic product, rubber product, etc
